I would like to present to you character development for Dyadic game : ) I hope that you will enjoy it.

I start of silhouettes that were presented to group: abstractive_characters_v1

Number 1 and 2 become official winners. : ) Inspired by Jack Kuskoff characters head design:

dyadic_character_idea_360

Next step was to improve look of 2 chosen characters  : ) characters_v1and define shapesprogress_01experiment with clothingprogress_02finalizing idea of characters clothing progress_03preparation for animation and breaking character as well turning to three quarter viewprogress_04redesigning clothingprogress_05redrawing picture in Illustrator for nice vector lines and again re designing clothingprogress_06importing vector pictures to Toon  Boom  software… to find out that it doesn’t work as I wish it too.. so I redraw once again whole character this time in Toon Boom.. Maybe there was other easier way but unfortunately I didn’t find it.progress_07setting up hierarchy progress_08checking out hierarchy of model in camera viewprogress_09checking bones, editing and adjusting pivotsprogress_10setting up bones of character and give it almost feeling of moving like for marionette progress_11creating rough look for character number 1 : )progress_12

Whole experience of learning those just few steps in Toon Boom like how to draw in Toon, how to set up hierarchy, pivots, repositioning IK bones and how to exclude them, drawing substitutions, adding pegs, how to use data view with key frames and so on…. take quite a bit of time but I think was worth it as I have done my 1st animation in Toon Boom! I know that walk cycle is not the best but I’m so happy from my achievement!

I also learn how to create sprite sheet in Photoshop via script called Sprite Sheet Generator 0.6.0 : )sprite1
