Today I back to modeling Arun again as I mention before I didn’t like how many polygons he had so I start reducing them. I think I’m doing well..? However there still is a lot to do : )
Hey, this is looking terrific! Good job on cutting down your polys too, you have still managed to keep tonnes of detail. I’m not sure if you could really cut down anymore on the facial area as you need all that detail there.
However, I have a question! I need some help with doing facial details and creating a split for my mouth to open and close on my model, like you have with yours, how were you able to do that?
Do you know of any tutorials I can watch to help me with this? Or would you be in at uni during anytime this week to give me some help with this?
Overall it is looking great, I’m really excited to see your final model.
Thank you! Once I model the head in to the shape that I want, I will still try to reduce polys : )
I won’t be at school this week, but have look at the tutorial that helped me. ( http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/1536-Indie-Game-Development-Pipeline-Volume-5-Boss-Character-Modeling-and-Texturing#play-40105 )There is only one disadvantage that tutor explain it in the Maya program, but I believe you will be able without problem follow it in 3Ds Max (anyway I did it like that). When you create mouth, do not forget that you will have to create inside of it. If that will help you I can create blog post where I explain how I do it. Additionally if you would like to I can try demonstrate it on your creature model, if that will make it easier for you.
PS I was searching for other tutorials for you but I didn’t find anything D: I must write something wrong on Google search…
